Superstars is in its sixth year and one of the fastest growing international saloon car series with strong backing by a number of manufacturers of luxury, high-performance saloon cars.

These include BMW (550i, M5 and M3), Audi (RS4), Jaguar (S-type R), Chrysler (300C SRT8), Chevrolet (CR8), Cadillac (CTS-V), Mercedes (C-63 AMG) and Maserati Quattroporte.

The regulations allow for four-door V8-engined production cars with a capacity between 3.0 and 7.0 litres. Current stars include former Formula One drivers Gianni Morbidelli (ROAL Motorsport BMW M3) and Pierluigi Martini (Zakspeed Chrysler 300C SRT8), Italian Superstar champion in 2008, Stefano Gabellini (Caal Racing BMW 550i), 2008 International Superstar champion, Kristian Ghedina (Roal Motorsport BMW M3), second in last year's championship, and Roberto Papini (CAAL Racing BMW M5), third in 2008.
