All major towns and centres include comprehensive shopping facilities with many curio markets filled with original Zimbabwe crafts and collecatble art.

While on safari, good quality wood and soapstone carvings are available from roadside crafters.

Shopping at craft markets can be a loud, exuberant and humorous affair, with much competition and price haggling.

If shopping at an established store, a sales tax of 10 to 22 per cent is added to all purchases, with a higher rate for luxury items.
Credit cards are accepted, although the use of credit cards is not widely encouraged due to the fluctuating rates of exchange and surcharges.

Special purchases to shop for include the typically tall giraffe-on-safari sculptures, ornate stone sculptures carved in verdite, items made from copper, leather products, hand crafted pottery, basketwork and hand painted table cloths portraying an authentic African flair.
